13th European VLBI Network Symposium and Users Meeting
The Institute of Applied Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, on behalf of the European VLBI Network Consortium Board of Directors, hosted the 13th European VLBI Network Symposium and Users Meeting on September 20-23, 2016. The Symposium was held at the St. Petersburg Scientific Center, located in the heart of the city.
The latest scientific results and technical developments on Very Long Baseline Interferometry with the EVN and related facilities around the word were reported and discussed. Scientific sessions included the life cycle of matter in stars and galaxies, AGN and cosmic star-formation, Extreme Astrophysics, Astrometry and Geodesy, planetary and space science, as well as techniques and developments. The programme also included the EVN Users Meeting, which is an important forum for interaction between the EVN users and the EVN organization.
The Symposium was organized with the support of European VLBI Network, Institute of Applied Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Joint-stock company “Institute of Applied Astronomy”, St.Petersburg Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Foundation for Basic Research, The Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations, Committee for Science and Higher School of the St.Petersburg Government.
