About the paper Full text

Abstract

The developed 16-channel module of digital down converters provides the possibility of connecting a radio telescope with broadband (512 MHz) channels for recording signals to working radio interferometric networks which use multichannel systems for recording signals at video frequencies (16 MHz or 8 MHz). The module is based on the FPGA technology and contains three converters for signals, which are the digital analogues of a radio interferometric system with 16 two-band down converters. The converter from three or less digital signals with 512 MHz bands allows for 32 or less signals with 16 MHz or 8 MHz bands to be allocated and formatted. The article contains a description and parameters of the module, as well as the estimation of the necessary FPGA resources for the implementation of the module.
