Abstract

A linear motion system of the RT-13 radio telescope focal unit is under consideration in this article. We explain our choice of components and the system design. The well-thought system design and our thoroughly worked out installation/dismantling techniques have enabled us to reduce time of replacing a faulty focal unit to one hour.
