Keywords: noise signal simulator, wideband digital DAS, VLBI.
About the paperAbstract
The research of the broadband noise signals simulator of the radio telescope receiving system is presented. It has been created to control, check and test the broadband DAS. The simulator consists of two identical channels. Each channel has 5 filters working in switchable ranges from 0 to 512 MHz, from 0 to 1024 MHz, from 512 to 1024 MHz, from 1024 to 1536 MHz or from 1024 to 2048 MHz. The simulator is able to adjust output noise power ranging from 0 dB to 31 dB. The adjustment step is 1 dB. The distortions of amplitude versus frequency response characteristics are less than 1–2 dB in all working frequency ranges. The simulator has almost lineal phase responses in working frequency bands. Constructively, the simulator is designed using a 19′′ 3U Schroff shell.
