About the paper

Abstract

This work presents theories of motion of the main satellites of Jupiter (Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto), Saturn (Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Dione, Rhea, Titan, Hyperion, Iapetus, Phebe), Uranus (Ariel, Umbriel, Titania, Oberon, Miranda) and Neptune (Triton, Nereid), based on numerical integration. The dynamical models include mutual perturbations of the satellites, disturbances of the Sun, major planets and nonsphericity of the central planet. The initial values of coordinates and velocities were improved as a result of astrometric observations of different types. In addition, several improved parameters were obtained for some satellite systems. We give our residuals, rms and compare our results with those obtained by other authors.
