Four Chanel Distributer of IF Signals for DAS of VLBI Radio Telescope

Abstract

The current stage of technology development VLBI and the emergence of new observing programs require empowerment apparatus of conversion and registration of signals. Number of inputs of Data Acquisition System (DAS) should be increased to four in order to be able to simultaneously record the signals of two wavelengths in two polarization or four wavelengths (e. g. 13; 6; 3: 5 and 1.35 cm). This gives a new distributor of IF signals of the DAS. Results of research of a prototype of the IF signals distributor R6312 from 16-channel DAS new generation R1002 with digital processing of signals at video frequencies intended to equip of a radio telescope RT-70 (Ussuriysk) are represented The frequency range is 100-1000 MHz. There are four independent inputs and ten switching outputs in this distributor. The output levels are adjusted in 0-18 dB range at step 6 dB. The distortion of amplitude versus frequency response characteristic is less than 1.5 dB in frequency range and less than 0.2 dB in any 32 MHz IF segment. This fact results from accurate selection of amplifier integrated circuit and from using the special amplitude versus frequency response characteristic correction circuit. Four independent inputs allow receive signals of two polarizations two ranges of wavelengths simultaneously. Ten switched outputs with six external 2 way power splitters allow increase the number of DAS channels up to 16.
