About the paper Full textAbstract
Since 2013, the small-sized modular quantum-optical system (MMKOS) «Sazhen-TM» has been introduced and is successfully operated at the East Siberian branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise «VNIIFTRI» for the purpose of determining Earth’s rotation parameters. The observation process features are described, including the exclusion of near-zenith regions due to rapid changes in mis-match corrections, limitations on observations at low elevation angles resulting from strong signal absorption in the atmosphere, and variations in observation intensity caused by poor transparency and high humidity levels. Additionally, observations from the northwestern part of the celestial hemisphere are excluded due to interference caused by urban area conditions. It is noted that the satellite observation program is developed considering these factors. A review of the software and mathematical support used is provided. The prevalence of satellite observations during daytime and the transition of the station, along with other global network stations, to updated formats of forecast files (CPF) and output CRD files is highlighted. The main results from the «Sazhen-TM» MMKOS observations at the Irkutsk station are presented, including the station’s operational duration, the composition of observed satellites used for the operational calculation of Earth Orientation Parameters (EOP) at the EOP department of the MMC SSTF (Main Metrological Center of the State Service for Time, Frequency, and EOP Evaluation) FSUE «VNIIFTRI», and the contribution of the Irkutsk station to the Russian segment of the laser observation network. An analysis of the Irkutsk laser observation station as part of the Russian segment of the network is conducted for 2024.
