Abstract

This paper analyses theoretical codeless acquisition characteristics of the modulated GPS L1 band binary phase-shift keying signals. It describes the signal squaring on method to acquire signals codelessly. Also, an approximate analytical estimate of the signal to noise ratio at the output of the optimal receiver is made. The results are shown as the dependencies between the signal detection probability and the signal-to-noise ratio at the receiver input when the probability of false alarms is constant and the number of samples accumulated coherently in the correlator is predetermined. The obtained results confirm the analytical estimates of the signal detection probability, calculate the signal acquisition thresholds and intervals of the coherent integration.
