Abstract

The paper presents a technique to calibrate the delay in the transmission path of time scales when the remote hydrogen standards of the Quasar network are being synchronized using the VLBI. VLBI experiments with the participation of Badary and Zelenchukskaya observatories show a smaller than 0.5 ns figure of the non-excluded systematic synchronization error. Also, we propose a method to calibrate the time scale path using radio frequency signals with different wavelengths which are transferred via fiber optic lines. The proposed method will allow for a decrease of more than one order of magnitude in the non-excluded systematic error when comparing the time scales using VLBI.
