Abstract

Development tendencies of Data Acquisition Systems for radio telescopes are considered. The concept of digital system for radio telescopes of the VLBI Network “Quasar” is offered. In it the analog-to-digital converter is switched on directly on an output of the low-noise amplifier of the radio-receiving device and is placed on the antenna. It allows to refuse analog frequency conversion and the related shortcomings. Advantages, structure and the principles of system operation of Direct Sampling Backend of radio-astronomical signals are given.
