It is necessary to have a reliable ephemeris and time support system in order to meet the accuracy, integrity and availability requirements in the satellite navigation. Reliability of the software which is used to generate and refine the ephemeris and time information (ETI) is the matter of particular importance. Failures that occur when a ballistic and navigational support software is in operation should be localized and resolved in the shortest possible time. A solution to this problem is our expert system based on the CLIPS production system for diagnostics, monitoring and software control.
