Abstract

Modern baseband converter for VLBI should select the signal in specified frequency range of IF (100-1000 MHz), translate it into baseband, separate sidebands, filter it and quantize it to 2-bits form. Digital baseband converter (DBBC) R1205M developed in IAA RAS performs signal processing in baseband in digital form. In compare with existing analog converters it has superior stability, fine identity, high reliability and it can be easy upgraded. R1205M allows to tune conversion frequency by 10 kHz step. It has 8 selectable passband from 0.5 MHz to 32 MHz. The image rejection ratio exceeds 37 dB. The DBBC are fully compatible with existing analog converters. The original digital signal processing technique used in R1205M provides a high efficient use of FPGA resources. The 16-channels data acquisition system (DAS) R1002 was developed and produced on the base of R1205. It is intended for 70-meters radiotelescope RT-70 in Ussuriysk. Three more R1002 systems would be soon set in operation on all "Quasar-KVO" radiotelescopes.
