Abstract

Due to simultaneous function of several global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) the importance of their development programs coordination between countries-owners of the systems becomes very significant. There is also a necessity in cooperation with the international bodies responsible for the practical and scientific use of GNSS. At the present stage of the development of the national system of positioning and time support with the use of GLONASS a serious attention is paid to the improvement of the fundamental segment of the system, which has to ensure the stability and monitoring of the Terrestrial geocentric coordinate frame. In this connection a participation of several permanent Russian stations of the IGS, QUASAR and FAGS networks in the international project GGOS is of particular interest. This project is working out since 2003 on the initiative of the International Association of Geodesy, and a complete development of the system should be finished before 2020
