Abstract

Stability of a time scale formed by a frequency standard is one of the most important criteria for its normal operation. It is reasonable to use an onboard time-and-frequency comparator for quick detection of the frequency standard’s abnormal behavior in navigation space vehicles. It is suggested to create a device on the basis of the “time interval to digital code” converters to reduce the comparator’s mass and energy consumption. The paper considers the peculiarities of such a converter application in order to estimate the RMS relative two-choice frequency departure of the onboard reference
