Abstract

This article considers the activities in 2018 and early 2019 to determine the Earth orientation parameters (EOP) and to improve the facilities used by the Main Metrological Centre (MMC) of the State Service for Time, Frequency and EOP evaluation (SSTF). The MMC SSTF made the GNSS and SLR measurements. The sites of the VNIIFTRI and its East-Sibarian branch (Mendeleevo and Irkutsk) were equipped by the new generation satellite laser stations. The EOP were evaluated separately for the VLBI, GNSS or SLR observation techniques. The MMC SSTF’s EOP were combined with the EOP data from other Russian Analysis Centres in order to produce the SSTF’s combined EOP. The MMC SSTF developed and upgraded its software both for the EOP evaluation and for some other tasks (such as evaluation of ephemeris and clocks for GPS/GLONASS and the satellite altimetry data processing).
