Abstract

We suggest a modified T2L2 method to compare time scales at a SLR station and a satellite. Having the times of three events (the laser fire, its reflection from the satellite reflector and the satellite echo detected at the SLR station), we get the system of equations connecting the parameters which can be measured in the satellite laser ranging with the time bias between the station and the satellite. We consider instrumental errors and timing delays (electronic, geometrical and optical) at the SLR station and on board the satellite. We analyze various ways of placing the retroreflector surface and directions of the laser impulse.
