Abstract

Currently, signals of global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are not only used for coordinate and time determinations, but also for the purpose of the Earth remote sensing (ERS). Let us consider the case of specular reflection (SR) from the terrestrial surface of a radio-navigation signal, which is characterized by the equality of the angles of incidence and reflection. In this case, the initial task in the development of algorithms for joint processing of direct and reflected signals which is realized by software methods is determination of coordinates of SR points. The proposed approach to the construction of a ERS system using GNSS and joint signal processing of direct propagation and the propagation specularly reflected from the Earth's surface, allows us to obtain information about the underlying properties of the surface.
