Abstract

The spatial and temporal structure functions of path length the Earth troposphere for the whole space and time ranges constructed on the base of turbulence theory are considered. These structure functions include three domains: a power law of 5/3 (three-dimensional turbulence), a power law of 2/3 (two-dimensional turbulence) and saturation. The turbulent model is compared with observational data. The natural meanings of spatial and temporal structure functions for different space and time intervals were obtained from radio as-tronomical observations and radiosonde measurements.
