Abstract

The concept of signal chain upgrading for RT-32 radio telescopes of Quasar network is presented. The modernization is based on replacement of all currently using backends with one Multipurpuse Digital Backend (MDBE). MDBE is installed in focal cabin and provides performing of all required types of observations. It digitizes signals from antenna receivers in intermediate frequency range and operates as data acquisition system, spectrometer or radiometric backend. The MDBE structure, performance and modes of operations are discussed.
